Dr. Keshia Tate (preceptee)

Dr. Tate is the epitome of where the business world meets medicine.  She brings with her diverse experiences in both corporate America and as a successful entrepreneur for a span totaling more than 25 years.   At the tender age of 44, she heard and responded to the compelling call to return to medical school and become a physician. After personally witnessing the disparities in our current health care system and how these inequalities impacted not only her own mother,  but also other friends and loved ones, Dr. Tate committed herself to finding solutions. Not only for her own situations, but also for society at large.  As a result of this dedication and exploration of healthcare and healthcare systems, she discovered Naturopathic Medicine. This exposed her to a whole new world that was both fascinating and full of common sense approaches to the healing arts.

In December of 2014 (the end of her 2nd year of medical school), Dr. Tate was hit by a drunk driver resulting in a near-fatal automobile accident. She sustained injuries to her neck and lower spine and was strongly advised by her medical team to immediately have an Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF) surgery. They also advised that not doing so would unequivocally result in permanent paralysis.

Determined to complete medical school and armed with passion and knowledge of Naturopathic Medicine, she followed her own inclinations and gave the naturopathic modalities her complete faith.

As fate or faith would prevail, her introduction to her mentor, Dr. Vance Inouye was not an accident. He became her primary physician in her time of physical crises and mental strife.  After 9 months of treatments ranging from acupuncture, e-stim, deep tissue therapy, supplementation, bio-modulator, nutrition support, mind-body eventually including injection therapies, her complete health was restored.

In the same manner, as Dr. Inouye restored her quality of life, Dr. Tate has dedicated her life to see that other physicians and medical professionals are offered the opportunities, to do the same for their patients. Through this experience, a partnership, friendship, true admiration and respect was birthed between her and Dr. Inouye. She was able to finish medical school and gives credit to Dr. Inouye for making it possible. During the course of her treatments, Dr. Tate began to understand the uniqueness and gift of  Dr. Inouye’s approach to medicine.

She began to coach Dr. Inouye to the realization of his vast knowledge (Just Dr. Inouye being Dr. Inouye) and remind him of his gifts as a teacher. They began to explore the realm of possibilities and the Comprehensive Pain Management Program (CPM) was created. Subsequently, they formed Kaizen Institute of Medical Education  (KiMed)  to expand their offerings first locally and now to the world at large.

With the culmination of her experiences and education, Dr. Tate is in a unique position to pursue her passion for helping patients achieve optimum health and maintain it. Her passion and knowledge of generating wealth creates a win-win for both patients and fellow healthcare professionals. Her ambition is to help others transform their health, empower families and help physicians obtain wealth by allowing them to work “in” their practices as she works “on” thier practices.

* Dr. Tate (Preceptee) received her medical training at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe, AZ where she studied for 5 years to finish her doctoral degree in Naturopathic Medicine. As a part of her medical training, she is currently completing a one-year residency/preceptorship program with Dr. Inouye in Mesa, AZ.
